Solitude and Attitude:Nayeda

This poem is an adapt from the oft-qouted poem of Ella Wheeler Wilcox (1850-1919)a Wisconsin born theatrical personality attracted to spiritualisim, theosophy and mysticism.
The title of this poem is SOLITUDE but a far more fitting title would have been ATTITUDE. Ella conveys that whatever attitude one decides to adopt is precisely what one will attract in his life. Think Sad and you attract emptiness. Think mirth and the world will laugh with you.
There are umpteen poems on SOLITUDE in world literature of all the languages. Most of these speak of malancholy and negative attitude whereas this poem and one by Late H.V. Bachchan talks about 'Positive Attitude and Approach'. Most of us might have enjoyed the writting of Bachanji and now i feel pleasure in sharing this one by Ella with all friends, here.

SOLITUDE AND ATTITUDE
Hanso ! Hansegi duniya saang tumhare,
Rowo! Rona padega tum ko bas akele.
Duniya ke swayam apne bhi kast hai aangin,
Aash hai usko bhi anand aaur pramod ke kuchh kshanon ki.
Gao, Dengi pratryutar parwaton ki shrinkhalayen bhi,
Bharoge yadi aahen ho jayengi vilin pawan men woh bhi.
Khusiyon ki hoti hai gunj aevam pratidhwani,
Kinara karenge sab tumhari marmahat karahen sun kar.

Anandit raho, chahna hogi sansar ko teri,
Shokakul hone se jayenge palat sab aaur laga denge feri.
Chahiye sab ko prasannata ka pariman,
Udasi ki hai jaroorat kisko ?
Khush raho, bahutere honge mitra tumhare,
Dukh rone se modenge munh woh sare.
Madhur som-ras pan ke liye na hoga inkar kisi ko,
Kintu kadwahat ka ghoont peena hoga akele tum ko.

Dawat do, bhar jayega pura mandap tumhara,
Upwas karo, chhod chalegae saang tumhara.
Safal hona aaur dena, dega madad jeene men,
Magar koi bhi nahin dega saath marne men.
Amod ke kaksh men sthan hai vishal pangat ko bhi,
Magar Dard ke sankde galiyaron se gujarana hoga.
Aek aek kar ,tanha tanha, hum sab ko bhi.

(Aek Bhavanuwad )
